Tim & Ally

Tim and Ally’s beautiful wedding was held on Saturday 22nd February, 2020.  We asked them a few questions about their special day, read on for their answers in their own words.

How did you meet?
We met the ‘modern’ way (on an app), and our first date involved Tim whipping up his signature roast potatoes.

How did Tim pop the question?
Just like in the classics, Tim placed a ring inside a fruit bowl, and popped the question with city views on holiday in Singapore.   Ceremony Musical Choices

Bride’s Entrance: I Get to Love You – Ruelle

Ceremony Exit: Everything – Michael Buble

Reception Musical Choices

First Dance: Toothpaste Kisses – The Maccabees

Father / Daughter Dance: Didn’t have one but Ally made sure to have a twirl with her Dad during Brown Eyed Girl (one of her mum and dad’s favourite songs)

Why did you choose Indooroopilly Golf Club as your wedding venue?
Tim loves his golf, and we both wanted a location that was filled with nature. Having an outdoor ceremony with the reception in the same location was also key for us.

Favourite Wedding Day memory?
Too many to mention. But, time on the golf course taking photos around some magical trees was special.

Were there any funny moments throughout your day?
Our emcee directing guests to the bathrooms using giant semaphore flags was a good laugh!

Did you include any personal touches to your day?
Ally’s uncle conducted our ceremony, which meant a lot to both of us and he added a great dose of humour. Another thing was our guest gifts that featured our three favourite teas and a classic Ally tea themed pun..

What advice would you give to future couples planning a wedding?
Make sure there’s a mid-strength beer available at the reception, and don’t book an early morning flight the next day to the honeymoon! But really, enjoy the process, focus on the big things and let Steph and her team work their magic on everything else. And find a photographer you love, because you’ll spend a lot of time with them.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your special day?
Looking back, there’s nothing we’d change, which says it all. The location, having our closest friends and family in one place, great food and plenty of laughs made for a fantastic time that seemed like it passed in the blink of an eye.
