Mason & Dorothy

Mason and Dorothy’s stunning wedding was held on Saturday 2nd November, 2019.  We asked them a few questions about their special day, read on for their answers in their own words.

How did you meet?
A mutual friend introduced us but warned me [Dorothy] ag
ainst getting involved. Turns out he knew we would click and the reverse psychology worked. The rest is history.

How did Mason pop the question?
Under a full moon while in Perth for Christmas 2018.

Why did you choose Indooroopilly Golf Club as your wedding venue?
The grounds were so beautiful and my initial meeting with Stephanie sold me instantly on how accommodating and open to customisation of their packages. We were able to have exactly what we had dreamed of and it was so easy from start to finish

Favourite Wedding Day memory?
Being surrounded by so many loved ones all day and seeing them all so happy and merry together.

Were there any funny moments throughout your day?
When Mason pulled out his well-loved RM’s and akubra for a quite outfit change as the party started. Golf course photos were also so much fun trying to get the perfect dress shot over and over again, luckily we had Ruby who had done it before and stepped in to master the shot.

Did you include any personal touches to your day?
We made sure that we had as many family and friends as we could squeeze in.

Did you have a wedding hashtag?
We didn’t but not for my lack of trying to be inventive. Mason didn’t like what I was putting down and now I don’t blame him!

What advice would you give to future couples planning a wedding?
Start as early as you want. Everyone said I [Dorothy] was crazy for having started as soon as we found an available date but there is just so many things you can at least start, like invite lists and budgets before anything is due. We also paid our wedding off in sections thank to a very clever spreadsheet, so we could see exactly how much we had budgeted, how much it cost us and how much was left to pay. Just start with the small fun things and then it all rolls from there.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your special day?
IGC were superb from start to finish and it is true what they say, your day goes by in a blink of an eye so enjoy it and leave what you can to the professionals. You’ll regret micromanaging your day when It’s all done and dusted.
