Ashlin and Justin’s stunningly colourful wedding was held on Saturday 5th October, 2019. We asked them a few questions about their special day, read on for their answers in their own words.
How did Justin pop the question?
Justin popped the question in Christchurch at Deans Bush (Riccarton) which holds fond memories of his late grandparents and Aunty Noni.
Why did you choose Indooroopilly Golf Club as your wedding venue?
We chose IGC because the venue was spacious, sophisticated and comfortably accommodated 170 guests. Our wedding coordinator (Stephanie) was professional, highly reliable and provided us a stress-free day (even when the bride forgot her speech at another location).
Favourite Wedding Day memory?
Celebrating with people who played a special role in our lives!

Were there any funny moments throughout your day?
There were many hilarious moments during our Hindu ceremony. For example, when Justin accidentally prayed to me instead of the Gods above (hahaha). The priest had everyone is stitches!
Did you include any personal touches to your day?
Yes! We decided to have two ceremonies (Catholic and Hindu) and celebrate both cultures.
What advice would you give to future couples planning a wedding?
Consider outsourcing and booking in major vendors as early as possible (especially if you are getting married on a popular date) and don’t be afraid to ask for help or delegate tasks.
Is there anything else you would like to say about your special day?
Yes! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, ugly cry, blink in photos and trip over everything (but the cake).
