Rachel and Nick’s relaxed and fun wedding was held on Saturday 12th October, 2019. We asked them a few questions about their special day, read on for their answers in their own words.
How did you meet?
Through mutual friends.
How did Nick pop the question?
Nick had pre-booked a room at the festival towers in the city and had pre-checked in and lined the room with rose petals, then he came home from work and told Rachel we were going out for dinner when really Nick was taking Rachel to the festival towers to propose.
Why did you choose Indooroopilly Golf Club as your wedding venue?
Nick loves to play golf in his spare time and we knew the colours would make beautiful backdrops for our wedding photos.
Favourite Wedding Day memory?
Rachel: when I got to the top of the aisle and stood in front of Nick, his face had lit up and he told me I looked absolutely stunning.
Nick: seeing Rachel for the first time, and that she said yes.

Were there any funny moments throughout your day?
There were many funny moments throughout the day from getting ready until the end of the reception.
Did you include any personal touches to your day?
Nick wore cufflinks that belonged to his brother who is no longer with us.
What advice would you give to future couples planning a wedding?
Relax and do what you want and not what everyone else wants you to do. There are some things you can’t change about your wedding so you should embrace it. It was raining the morning of our wedding then come 4pm it was clear blue skies!
Is there anything else you would like to say about your special day?
We couldn’t have gotten married without the help of the IGC and our coordinator Stephanie. Stephanie is an asset to the Indooroopilly Golf Club and to any couple planning their wedding. We cannot thank Stephanie and the Indooroopilly Golf Club staff enough for their hospitality and accommodating any needs we had.
